Sarasota’s name is thought to be derived from a Spanish term for “a place of dancing,” which is an apt name for the city as it hosts a lively arts scene, burgeoning business center, and breathtaking beaches.
The 2021 edition of U.S. News & World Report honored Sarasota as the best place to retire in the whole country, naming its world-renowned restaurants and superb attractions. However, Sarasota is not just for retirees, as it was also voted the best place to live in Florida for all ages. In fact, Sarasota had the highest growth rate in Florida and the entire United States.
